As of February,2015, we are now known as “THE BELIEVERS. We haven't changed, just our name. The reason we decided to change our name is because we are asked so many times how we are tied to “Beebe”. As some know, when we began our ministry in 1986, we all attended Beebe First Assembly of God in Beebe, Arkansas. We chose the name “Beebe Believers” for that reason. Beebe First Assembly of God is now known as “Open Arms” Assembly of God, and, therefore, does not use the name Beebe in the church title. Joyce does still attend church at Open Arms, but we (the Palmers) attend another church. Alvin felt, and we all agreed, that it is time for us to give all recognition to the Lord in that we are BELIEVERS of the Lord Jesus Christ, and not recognize a city in our name.
We have new flyers and new cards, “THE BELIEVERS”, and we have noted below our name that we were “formerly The Beebe Believers”, and our website remains www.beebebelievers.com for the time being.
So if you see a new flyer posted somewhere, nothing has changed except the name.
My, it has been a long time since I posted anything on a blog. From singings, I am asked about updates and I have fallen short (I guess I didn't realize that some of you do read and check our site, even if you don't leave a comment). Accept my apology!!
We are really looking forward to seeing alot of you in 2015, we have some new places booked, and we are blessed to be invited back to sing with so many of you.
We didn't get to travel as much in 2014 as we had hoped. Shekanah was very sick for almost six months and finally, after months of testing and the surgeon feeling nothing else could be wrong, did remove her gallbladder, and she is a new person, and feels great. She lost about 30 lbs. and wants to keep it off, but it isn't about the weight to her, it is feeling good again. You know I always say that it is in the valley where we grow, and Shekanah can tell you that she really spent time in prayer and seeking God, and at times, not understanding why her healing wasn't coming, but she never lost her faith and kept holding on. Matter of fact, if you get her new CD, she has a song entitled
“Waiting in the Water” which really touched her during her sickness, and that is the reason she recorded the song. I felt the annointing when I first heard the
CD, because I knew, through months of pain and tears, that the promise would be waiting for her. I hope it will bless you as you listen.
Speaking of Shekanah's new CD, it came out in January, 2015, and it has 15 songs on it. I am very proud of her and I believe that this CD really expresses just who she is in her walk for the Lord.
For those of you that knew Dale Cox (Joyce's late husband), Shekanah does a real sweet tribute to him on the CD in “Tell Me, Dale”.
We really hope that we can see a lot of you this year in church service while we travel for the the Lord. We treasure your friendships.
Hopefully, I can be reminded to write in the blog every month or so.
Until then……
Brenda
