We spent a lot of time from April through June making new CD's. Shekanah finished her third CD “Life is Great and Gettin' Better”, and it was released June 1st. In
the latter part of July, the group's second CD “Timeless” was relesed. We are proud of both projects and we sure invite you to take a listen to us. We love you for your loyalty and support.
We were busy in June and we enjoyed all the services. We did a benefit for the Pratt Family at Thida on June
1st and the benefit was a success, but we have learned that Brother Eugene Pratt succumb to cancer and we send our prayers to the Pratt Family. We wish Bro. Chris Glidewell our best and it is our prayer that the ministry of Crossroads Church at Thida will win many souls.
We truly enjoyed our afternoon at Hickory Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Newport on June 8th. The church is led by a wonderful pastor and the church family always makes us feel at home. We love you folks.
Salado Missionary Baptist Church welcomed us again for their Homecoming on June 22nd. We have been invited for the past several years and we love these people. We really do feel right at home.
We did get to enjoy three gospel concerts ourselves, Mike and Kelly Bowling at Conway; Jeff and Sheri Easter at Velvet Ridge, and Austin's Bridge at Jacksonville. We sure enjoyed the concerts. We thank God for Sheri Easter's “good report” and we believe that she will be even more a blessing after her winning fight with breast cancer.
In July, we traveled to Granbury, Texas and visited with Mandy and her family (grandkids are priceless – and, oh, how we miss them)! We sure had a good time over the 4th of July holliday weekend.
On July 26, we were blessed to be in service with Bro. Eric Downs and church family at Cave Creek Church of God in Cave City. Bro. Eric is truly an inspiration and we are thankful to know him. We were also blessed with little Darren's winning testimony of beating cancer in the last few months. Darren is 12 years old and a true “Shekanah” fan.
Time allowed us in August to spend family time. We had planned and are planning three trips. Shekanah and I, (along with my sister and niece) enjoyed five days in Branson. It was a blast! We also helped another sister, Connie, during the month and we enjoy being with family. And, the last weekend of the month, we have plans with Mandy and her family.
Upcoming, check the calendar regularly, but right now, we are scheduled for North Little Rock, Vilonia, Poughkeepsie, Judsonia (two singings), Charlotte, Timbo and Augusta.
Hope to report back with the VICTORY!!
Brenda
